Stomach Cancer Has One Of The Highest Mortality Rates    




Early Symptoms Can Be Confused By Gastrointestinal Issues    




Stomach cancer has one of the highest mortality rates, with a survival of only 14%. Consists of abnormal growth of cancer cells in the lining of the stomach, which, if undetected, will extend to other parts of the digestive system and of the body in a process called metastasis. It is difficult to diagnose because it’s early symptoms can be confused by gastrointestinal issues, such as acid reflux and burning sensation. Also, other symptoms are bloating, diarrhea or constipation. However, in the case of stomach cancer, the symptoms persist for several days. Once the patient realizes that the symptoms are persistent and visits the doctor, cancer might already be in an advanced stage. There are several risk factors for this type of cancer.
