Even though they are rich in vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants, if taken first thing in the morning, the acids contained in these fruits may irritate the stomach. Another food is tomato, which has vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, but can cause acidity due to the tannic acid it contains. Many people drink coffee in the morning, but, if taken with an empty stomach, it can increase the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, slowing the digestion process, which results in constipation.
